FASO, Florida Association of Sports Officials and ASEP, American Sports Education Program has join forces to provide officials with the best training material available. Education is the sports officials first line of defense against incompetency and inconsistency. Stop trying to get by with limited knowledge of the rules and mechanics and allow ASEP to lay a foundation for your officiating career. The best officials are the ones who have mastered the foudamentals of officiating. Successful Sports Officiating (the book to your right) gives you the tools you need to build a solid foundation and apply proven officiating principles to make those tough calls in tight games with confidence! It is a great read for the rookie and veteran official alike. Click on picture to order or read more info. It does not matter if you are a soccer, football, or basketball officials ASEP offers you the resourse to improve your skills. As an official you owe it to the players who spend hours sweating on practice fields, to coaches who spend frustrating days/nights training athletes and parents who spend time, money, and hours lost from work to educate yourself in the sport you officiate.
Allow FASO to put this in simple terms: Players, coaches, parents and even athletic directors do not receive any form of monitary gain from their particpatian in sporting events, but officials do.
Officiating is a trade, like plumbers, electricians, and carpenters. Would you pay top dollar for an incompetent plumber or electrican? However some sports officials desire top pay without attempting to improve their officiating knowledge. What if an official got paid according to how much training and education he or she have in their particlar sport? Would that motivated officials to spend the time and money it takes to be educated? An untrained and uneducated official will rob a contest of its enjoyment. Prepare yourself today with ASEP training materials. Click on the images to your left to order.
