The FASO Family
When you join
FASO, your not just joining another association but a
Family. A family with one purpose,
to serve the athletic community. It does not matter if you serve for one season or year around, you are still welcomed. If you are presently a member of another local association it is not require to drop your affiliation to join FASO.
It is FASO goal to provide game officials with work year around from recreational to competitive. So if you desire to join FASO on your off season or this will be your first time officiating FASO has a place for you.
FASO's seasonal booking fees for game officials is $25. The seasons are as follow: Aug.-Nov.; Dec.-Mar.; and Apr.-July.
Why be a Sport Official for FASO?
BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE
Have you ever found yourself fighting for a seat during sporting events? The "best seat in the house", is not in the stands but on the court of field.
As a Sports Official (Referee), you would have the best seat (view) in the house (game). Along with the best seat, you will have a vital role to play in the game.
By joining FASO, you will be a participant rather than a spectator.
NATIONAL SHORTAGE
According to NASO, National Association of Sports Officials, sports officials are becoming an endangered species. With the decline of qualified officials means trouble for the athletic community.
No matter how committed coaches are, no matter how devoted parents are, if they don't have any refs, umps or other officials working at those kids' games, there won't be any games.
By joining FASO, you will help save the kids from disappointment of canceled games.
OFFICIATING - EASY MONEY
As an amateur sports official, you could make more money in less than 3 hours working games than working 8 hours sweating it out behind the counter of a fast food joint.
If you are a college student, high school graduate or over the age of 55 there is easy money in refereeing.
By joining FASO, you will have the potential to earn about $250/wk. less than 20/hrs.
